Welcome to the website of the Houston Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. It has been designed to provide pertinent and timely information for our chapter members. It is intended to be a resource for the general public, in terms of learning about our organization and what we have to offer, both locally as well as nationally. It also provides a means for consumers to find appraisers in their area.

For more than 75 years, the Appraisal Institute has been the world's leading organization of professional real estate appraisers. The organization has led the way in fostering and promoting the highest standards of practice through its designation programs, peer review process, education, research, and publishing endeavors.
The Houston Chapter began in 1944. Selected as the "best chapter" in 2008, we are one of the leading chapters of the Appraisal Institute. Our growth mirrors that of the dynamic Houston market area which has grown from 44,633 in 1900 to the fourth largest city in the United States with a current city population of 2.2 million and a metropolitan area population of 5.7 million.
